There are several steps you can take to ensure you receive quality work—at the price quoted.

Here are a few things to look for in a remodeling company:

• Better Business Burea Reports (excellent source of past problems)
• Clean, Courteous, Professional Crew
• Concise, Detailed Estimates (outlining every aspect of the project, their costs, and their completion dates)
• Several References (especially references from projects similar to yours)
• Licenses, Insurance Coverage, Bonding, Certifications (all required by most cities)
• Project Start Guarantee (nothing worse than waiting and waiting for your project to start.)
• Complete Clean-Up Policy (not only after the project is completed, but nice to have on an "end-of-the-day" basis, too.)
• Project Completion Date Guarantee (really, really nice to have but not that common...try to get one anyway!)
• Warranty for Project and All Components (Ask for a Written Waranty for your project and all its components and make sure you know who is responsible for repairs under warranty work).
